The holocaust is a confronting and evil reminder of atrocities committed in war. I have explored the heartache and suffering of the Jewish people during WWII. The silk screen process repeats the emaciated human images left as a reminder of the pain and suffering in the camps. The paper maché hearts link the two canvases representing the millions lost. They light up and keep their memories alive.
The sculptured chatter boxes symbolise the senseless games the Germans played. I wanted this work to confront viewers and attract a conscious response to the loss of innocent lives during war.
